The Bank of Biological Material at the the Małopolska Centre of Biotechnology Jagiellonian University allows users to store blood, plasma, serum, leukocytes, buffy coats, cell lines as well as DNA, depending on the nature of the sample. Biological material can be stored in freezers at -20 °C or -86 °C, or in liquid nitrogen storage dewars at -190°C. To manage the samples, the collection and data processing, an LSMS (Laboratory Sample Management System) and a LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) are in place.
